Bells Palsy

Keith F. December 29, 2021

I had been afflicted with the very unsettling somewhat rare condition of Bell’s palsy. At the recommendation of a neurologist who was overseeing my condition, I sought out an acupuncturist and found this establishment through positive yelp reviews. I can confirm those reviews in that my sessions were efficient, pleasantly professional, and even relaxing. They also took my insurance which was very nice. My bells palsy has completely resolved with a combination of the medications I was prescribed and, from what I could tell, these acupuncture treatments. I would have days where I would go in and notice returning neuromuscular control to my face had improved from the time I began the session to the time it was completed. Having read that there was positive research backing up enhanced recovery rates from Bell’s palsy for people who added acupuncture to their regimen of treatment, I was not disappointed. Also recommended is getting medication prescribed as soon as possible. It was only 6 days after the original onset of my condition that I started to experience very subtle return of facial neuro muscular activity, which more typically takes about 2 to 3 weeks to notice any return of movement. For a condition that so unnerving, no pun intended, it was nice that the beginnings of the road to recovery were experienced early on.
